Notary Public Services
The East Hazel Crest Police Department is available to provide Notary Public services to village residents. Notaries can only witness the identity of a person for a specific purpose, which is typically associated with the signing of documents. An Illinois Notary Public does not provide any legal advise or other services.
Due to additional legal requirements, the Notary Public at the East Hazel Crest Police Department cannot notarize documents associated with the transfer of real estate. Documents requiring the witness of a Notary Public cannot be signed before seeing the Notary Public. We do not notarize certain documents such as the I-9, a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service form used by an employer to verify an employee's identity and to establish that the worker is eligible to accept employment in the U.S.
The individual whose signature requires the witness of a Notary must bring photo identification and be physically present before the Notary at the time the document is signed.
